About the School
Founded in 1995, the French American School of Puget Sound today enrolls over 430 students 18-months through Grade 8 from more than 60 countries and is the recognized leader in bilingual education in the Pacific Northwest. With an unwavering commitment to empowering students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a globally diverse and inclusive learning community. FASPS harmonizes both the French and American educational systems in its own unique way to create a coherent and effective learning journey. FASPS is growing its footprint: While there are now two campuses: the Early Childhood-Grade 8 campus on Mercer Island and the Preschool on Capitol Hill (Seattle), there are plans to open a new, purpose-built Upper Elementary / Middle School (grades 4 through 8) in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle.
About the Position
This is a wonderful opportunity to “inspire the next generation of global citizens to learn understand and act wisely in a multicultural world, ” in keeping with the FASPS Vision. FASPS seeks an expert in French/English bilingual education for children 18-months -Grade 8, and perhaps beyond. It will be important to be both bilingual and bicultural, and committed to ensuring that the learning journey for children harmonizes the very best of both the French curriculum and pedagogies with those of the US. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, prepared and eager to take on the challenge of growing enrollment, overseeing construction of and relocation to a new campus for the older students and successfully closing the capital campaign already underway.
