Position Overview

Lebawi International Academy is a prestigious educational institution in Ethiopia, dedicated to inspiring and empowering our students through a rigorous curriculum and an enriching learning environment. We strive to nurture future leaders who contribute positively to Ethiopia and the world. We are seeking for a seasoned, strategic, and dynamic Business Head for our school who manages the overall school operations and designs strategic plans for sustainability.

The general aim of the position

  • To oversee all non-academic operations, including Finance, Human Resources, Facilities, Admissions, Administrative Assistant, and IT department.
  • To plan and implement strategic directions to achieve the business goal of the institution.
  • To ensure the sustainable growth and success of the institution.

Priority Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead the Academy’s business functions, such as Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Compliance, Admissions, IT department, and Facilities management.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans that align with the school’s missions and goals.
  • Develop contingency plans for financial sustainability in various situations of crisis.
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Create 3, 5, and 10-year budget projections, including pathways for various scenarios.
  • Plan and budget for growth and ongoing building projects and expansion.
  • Provide professional leadership and management to those they are supervising.
  • Provide professional development as requested by the Head of School or Quality Assurance Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and contractual obligations, maintaining relationships with relevant bodies.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of School to ensure harmonious integration of the academic and business aspects of the school.
  • Advise and support the Board of Directors on all business/operational-related matters.
  • Work closely with the Head of School/General Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related fields: Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience, preferably within an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Strong financial understanding and experience in operations management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, parents, students, and community members.
  • Familiarity with Ethiopian regulatory bodies and compliance requirements is a plus.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
