French Immersion Preschool and Bilingual K-5 School

Enrollment: approximately 84 Students

18560 1st Avenue NE. Wing F Shoreline, WA

Just ten short years ago, in the fall of 2013, the North Seattle French School opened its doors to 12 kindergarten students in one classroom and has grown by one grade each year while also adding a preschool class. The international community of families hail from many different countries and languages and are bonded by a common desire to foster a sense of global citizenship in their children. Some are French speakers who seek to retain their heritage and others come to NSFS believing in the benefits of a bilingual education and wanting this for their children. All support a school that embodies the best for their children; an inquiry driven curriculum that combines with the internationally recognized program of the French Ministry of Education with the best of US teaching styles emphasizing creativity and critical thinking. The bilingual curriculum designed to address the Washington State common core standards and the internationally recognized French curriculum enable the graduates of NSFS to successfully transition into a French school, one of the local independent schools, or one of the local public middle schools.

North Seattle French School is a candidate member of the Northwest Association of Independent Schools, (NWAIS), an approved private school by the Washington State Board of Education and a member of the Washington Federation of Independent Schools.

The Location

North Seattle French School is located in Shoreline, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. Shoreline is about 10 miles north of downtown Seattle and just south of the border of Snohomish County. Shoreline got its name because the public school district spans from “Shore to Shore” between Puget Sound and Lake Washington. Shoreline, with its many charming neighborhoods and 25 parks of over 300 acres, is a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
