Educators Collaborative is pleased to partner with Georgetown Day School (GDS) in its search for a seasoned, creative, and visionary Director of Enrollment and Financial Aid. The new Director will start on or before July 1, 2027.
About the School
GDS was founded in 1945 as the first integrated school in a then-segregated Washington, DC. Its founders built it on respect and care for others, with diversity as the foundation for transformational learning. Eight decades later, that philosophy still shapes the school. Today 1,116 PK–12 students learn across three closely connected divisions on an outstanding urban campus in Northwest DC. The school is known for its strong academics, 54 athletic teams, a lively arts program and a deep commitment to civic engagement and community service.
This is a rare chance to lead from strength. GDS has high application and yield rates, enrolls at capacity and keeps a waiting list every year. The Director reports to the Head of School, sits on the Leadership Team and serves as the school’s principal strategist on enrollment. The role includes:
- Leading an experienced, collegial team of seven
- Guiding tuition pricing and financial aid strategy
- Analyzing market and demographic trends
- Attracting mission-aligned families who reflect the diversity at the heart of the school’s founding
- Protecting access and affordability for the decades ahead
The ideal candidate brings at least ten years of admissions and financial aid experience, including at least five years in senior leadership, preferably in independent schools. They combine strategic and analytical range with a firm commitment to inclusion and excellent communication skills. They also bring the humility, kindness and good humor to empower a talented team.
