Educators Collaborative is pleased to be assisting the French American School of Puget Sound (FASPS) in their search for the new position of Chief Advancement Officer to begin in Summer 2026.
About the School
Inspiring global citizens through bilingual education.
The French American School of Puget Sound, a vibrant and mission-driven independent school offering a harmonized French/American learning experience in the greater metropolitan Seattle/Bellevue areas seeks a strategic, relational, and dynamic Chief Advancement Officer at a pivotal moment in its history.
Founded in 1995, FASPS today enrolls over 443 students representing more than 60 countries, and 38% of current students have at least one Francophone parent. The school offers a rich bilingual (French/English) education from Early Childhood through Grade 8, blending the best of French and American curricula to cultivate globally minded, intellectually curious, and compassionate students. FASPS is accredited by both the Northwest Association of Independent Schools and the French Ministry of Education.
Our Mission:
FASPS challenges students to excel academically and thrive in French, American, and international cultures.
Our Vision:
FASPS inspires the next generation of global citizens to learn, understand, and act wisely in a multicultural world.
At FASPS, language is more than a subject—it is a gateway to cultural understanding, empathy, and connection. The school’s diverse and engaged community reflects its commitment to inclusion, internationalism, and educational excellence.
The Opportunity
The Chief Advancement Officer will join FASPS at a critical and energizing time. This leader will oversee a broad and integrated portfolio, including:
- Enrollment Management – strengthening recruitment, retention, and admissions strategy amid current enrollment challenges
- Marketing & Communications – sharpening the school’s story, brand, and visibility in a competitive independent school landscape
- Development – leading and reinvigorating a capital campaign already underway, while building a sustainable culture of philanthropy
Working in close partnership with the Head of School and Board of Trustees, the Chief Advancement Officer will bring coherence, clarity, and momentum across these interconnected functions.
This is an opportunity for a leader who thrives in complexity, sees opportunity in challenge, and is eager to help position FASPS for continued strength and sustainability, and long-term growth.
The Ideal Candidate
FASPS seeks a leader who brings:
- Demonstrated success in advancement, enrollment management, or related leadership roles
- Strategic thinking paired with strong execution and follow-through
- Experience leading or supporting fundraising efforts, including campaigns
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across diverse constituencies
- Comfort working in multicultural and multilingual environments
- Resilience, optimism, and the ability to lead through challenge and change
Experience in independent schools and/or bilingual or international settings is highly valued. Though not required, fluency in both French and English is a plus.
Seattle and the Puget Sound Region
Located on Mercer Island, just minutes from downtown Seattle, FASPS benefits from its position in one of the most dynamic and globally connected regions in the United States. The Seattle area is home to a thriving international population and a robust economy anchored by global leaders in technology, life sciences, aerospace, education, and innovation. The region’s emphasis on global engagement, sustainability, and intellectual curiosity aligns closely with the mission and values of an international education.
The Puget Sound region offers exceptional quality of life, with access to world-class cultural institutions, universities, outdoor recreation, and an engaged, civically minded community. Families drawn to FASPS often have international backgrounds or global professional experience, making the school a natural hub for bilingual and internationally focused education.
