Coed Boarding and Day School, Grades 8-12/PG

Enrollment – 150 students

120 South 100 West, Mount Pleasant, UT

Wasatch Academy seeks a Director of Enrollment Management, who will begin July 1, 2024 or as soon after that date as feasible. Located in the stunning town of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Wasatch serves 150 students in a college and life preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 8-12 and postgraduates. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced admissions professional who will enjoy boarding school life in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. If you would enjoy introducing both domestic and international families to a uniquely experiential and individually-focused educational opportunity, working in a close community with easy access to snow sports, hiking, mountain climbing, and sweeping mountain views from every point in town, this may be for you.

Mission and Core Values

Wasatch Academy is a nurturing community empowering young people to develop academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and ethically, by preparing them for the opportunity of college, work, and a lifetime of learning and contributing to our global society.

The core values are:  Respect for the individual, Ownership, Community, Innovation, and Health and Safety.

The School

“Let it endure like the Wasatch Mountains; call it Wasatch Academy.”

Wasatch is proud to be known as a secular school with students from 19 different countries, and 29 different U.S. states. They celebrate a richly diverse student body and an explicit commitment to the value of inclusion and equity in their community.

Wasatch differentiates the educational experience for each student, which helps them lean into a curriculum and learning experience that is both college and life preparatory. While most students would be described as “neurotypical,” those with identified moderate learning differences are supported by the Learning Center with a dedicated and trained faculty. By learning side-by-side in the classroom, living together in the dorms, and exploring Utah and the world, all Wasatch students engage in thoughtful discussions, reflection, and positive action while creating lasting friendships.

Signature programs include an extensive experiential outdoors program, robust fine and performing arts courses, strong engineering and robotics offerings, a Learning Center to support individual student needs, and a nationally recognized NIBC boys basketball program, These programs are all supported by beautiful dedicated spaces on campus or in the surrounding mountains. The school also offers a dual diploma program to a number of partner schools around the globe, many of whose students spend a year or two on the Utah campus.

Dr. Anne- Evan Williams joined Wasatch Academy in 2023.  She was head of school in her previous two appointments, at Billings Middle School in Seattle, WA and at The Ridgewood School in Springfield, Ohio. When asked about her new appointment, she stated; “It is not an exaggeration to say that I fell in love with Wasatch Academy the first time I stepped onto campus. I was impressed by the stunning location, nestled in the natural beauty of the Wasatch mountains. But I was even more blown away by each person I met in the Wasatch community. From students and faculty and staff to alumni and trustees, I found a kind, diverse, and talented community welcoming me. And I knew that I was home.”

Mount Pleasant, UT

The railroad came to Mount Pleasant in 1890 and with it came prosperity. Commercial structures along Main Street reflect those good times. Most of the buildings have been preserved to reflect that era. The town is a short drive from both the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache and Manti-LaSal National Forests. It is also an easy 90 minutes from Salt Lake City, with the towns of Provo and Orem accessible along the way.

Mount Pleasant gives Wasatch Academy access to the gateway of outdoor adventuring. With seven national monuments, six national forests, five national parks, 14 world-class ski resorts, and 45 state parks, the greatest snow on earth, and its natural beauty, Utah is a prime location for students looking to enjoy the out-of-doors.

The 35-acre campus of Wasatch Academy is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as is the town’s Main Street. Mount Pleasant offers a perfect environment to focus on studies in a safe and friendly location, with clean air and no traffic. Mount Pleasant is within an hour of other historic towns in Utah, notably Provost and Orem, that offer museums and artist colonies.
