About the School
Described by parents and faculty alike as “one-of-a-kind” and “a true gem,” Pinecrest School is seeking its next Head of School to begin July 1, 2023. An award-winning, independent school in Fairfax County, Virginia, Pinecrest enrolls 104 children ages 3-12 in preschool through sixth grade. Progressive and innovative in its approach, the school’s curriculum emphasizes critical thinking skills, STEAM instruction, and hands-on projects in small classes. A small school by design, Pinecrest believes that differentiated instruction is the norm and every student learns in a unique way. The school provides students a strong foundation in core academic subjects, while also cultivating in students a sense of caring for the world around them and an emerging understanding of how they can make positive contributions in the community and beyond.
