Independent Association of the Central States
Search for President
to take office July 1, 2009
The 320 member schools who are served by ISACS are located in 13
states in the Midwest region: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa,
Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North
Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The Association was founded in 1908 with 18 member schools and 100 years later is one of the most highly regarded independent school associations in the United States.
The Board of Trustees and Search Committee of ISACS seek a visionary
leader who —
1. Will be a forceful spokesperson for independent schools in the
region and nationally.
2. Is willing to travel throughout the region in support of the member schools.
3. Is committed to the process of accreditation.
4. Has experience in public policy and government relations.
5. Has filled position(s) of leadership in independent schools.
6. Has outstanding skills for communication, both written and verbal.
7. Will be creative and vigorous in identifying and developing
funding sources for the Association.
8. Will be passionate in support of all ISACS schools and sound
educational practice.
9. Will promote the ISACS commitment to diversity in its member
schools.
10. Will write and publish articles for ISACS schools as well as for a variety of professional journals or publications.
11. Will promote the professional opportunities provided by ISACS and
work to expand and diversify professional services.
12. Will continually provide support and leadership for the effective
use of technology to improve ISACS services and provide the association with superior operational efficiency.
ISACS hopes to receive dossiers by late September or early October and
identify a new President by mid-November.
