Founded in 1975 and located on a15 acre estate in central Greenwich, Eagle Hill School offers a preeminent program for children with learning disabilities. The campus includes two hospitable older buildings which house classrooms, administrative offices, support services, and residential facilities and numerous additional facilities including a gymnasium and science center, library and media facility, twelve faculty homes, and a new classroom building completed three years ago. A small, close, and extremely collaborative community with ambitious goals, Eagle Hill School inspires its students to demonstrate a strong work ethic and abundant amounts of enthusiasm and energy. The School specializes in helping the child with learning disabilities develop academic skills and self-confidence. Always focused on the whole child and able to provide a remarkably individualized program, it is the School’s mission to provide its student with intensive, short-term, remedial instruction and then transition them back to the educational mainstream. Students attend Eagle Hill for as few as two and as many as eight years and move into the next phase of their education well prepared with the skills and confidence to take on new challenges.
Eagle Hill enjoys the enthusiastic support of an active, involved and generous Board of Trustees, a dedicated parent body and a committed, highly trained and experienced faculty. The next Head of School is expected to be a dynamic educator with a deep commitment to maintaining Eagle Hill’s enviable status in the world of LD schools and leading it into the next phase of its history. He/she will need an abiding devotion to children and the administrative experience to lead a long-tenured and highly professional faculty and staff. Most importantly the new Head of School should be an excellent communicator, able to articulate the School’s vision, and ready to become engaged with its mission driven community.
